Margaritaville in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, broke the record for the largest margarita ever on October 14th, 2011. The tantalizing concoction, aptly named “Lucky Rita”, measured 5.2 m (16 ft 11 in) tall and 3 m (10 ft) in diameter. It took 300 hours and 60 people to create this incredible drink, which contained:
- 8,081.66 litres (1,777.72 gal, 2,134.95 US gal) of Margaritaville Gold tequila
- 8,638.99 litres (1,900.31 gal, 2,282.18 US gal) of Margaritaville Margarita mix
- 2,759.68 litres (607.04 gal, 729.03 US gal) of Margaritaville triple sec
- 12,870.4 litres (2,831.09 gal, 3,400 US gal) of Lemon-x margarita mix
The “mixing” event was used to celebrate the grand opening of the Margaritaville Casino at The Flamingo hotel in Las Vegas, putting Margaritaville in the Guinness World Records!
